My girls

I think I have about 5 minutes!
So I thought I'd share a little about this pregnancy. This kidd-o is truly a trooper. Evelyn means "life." I thought: Enough said - It's perfect!
From the hurdles of trying for so long for a baby,
job change,
stress of our 12th move,
broken hand then subsequent surgery,
and then some major life stressors,
a last-minute trip to Canada and then on to Utah...
We also juggled complications with her umbilical cord and a few other issues that had them monitoring me with ultrasounds every 2 weeks.
But when the time came, I can only say:
The delivery: PERFECT (less than 5 hours, 3 pushes)
The Baby: PERFECT
My Doctor: PERFECT (okay, I REALLY love her)
The Recovery: PERFECT
(well, as good as that goes)
When I took her to her Pediatrician follow-up, I had a concern about her spitup and the doctor almost freaked out on us and sent us RUNNING to the hospital downtown for x-rays and upper GI testing. She literally said,
"Don't check out at the front desk, get down there asap and I'll have everything set up for you at radiology."
Her reaction was so strong I was shocked. I think the hormones were kicking in (not to mention the milk at this point and she refused to let me feed my starving newborn) and the tears started flowing as Hal drove down to the hospital.
In my mind, I thought, of course, SOMETHING has to go wrong when everything else was going so perfectly.
Apparently the worry was that her internal organs had all shifted but they seemed to check out fine. My worry was how invasive the tests would be on a 4-day old (Dr was saying "scope, etc" but they ended up being alright. WHEW! I kept thinking: I had already handed one baby over to two surgeons, I didn't want to do it again!
Here is Kya, very proud of her drawing (errr....tracing) and wanted me to "show it to all her friends"--Cute kid. She's been so great with Evie, albeit a little tearier than normal, but I think we're starting to settle down.

A HUGE THANK YOU

for all the emails, notes, gifts, etc. Hal would read them to me at the hospital - so I'm a little behind in getting back! But thank you!! It was so touching to feel her arrival celebrated even though we so far from all of you guys!

My heart is full
